Youth Volunteering

Modern society has come to realize those that are less fortunate need a hand up, and schools have lately been leading the way in volunteerism. Many of them have begun to provide matches between students and local charity organizations as a way to help the community while educating students. This has worked out well in many areas, and there are now efforts by charities to get on the growing list of schools with available students.

Volunteering has a long history of helping those in need as well as those who provide assistance, and both parties benefit. While the benefits to those receiving help are often obvious, the sense of community and commitment from volunteers are the rewards they receive. Even if they only work one day per week, the lift in spirits and esteem is obvious to those around them.
